Volunteer Boston - Ethos Ethos is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting independence, dignity and well-being among the elderly and disabled through quality, affordable and culturally-appropriate home and community-based care.

Volunteer Statement

Volunteer Boston - Ethos Ethos relies heavily on their team of dedicated volunteers. The Volunteer Program provides people the opportunity to: care about the elder population, show their compassion for others, be involved in their community, and form lasting friendships.

Ethos volunteers provide elders the opportunity to: maintain their independence, remain connected to their community, and improve their physical and emotional well-being.

Ethos provides volunteers with: training, supervision, travel reimbursement, opportunities for creativity, flexible hours to fit your schedule, community service projects, internships for college and high school students, application to programs offering stipends to senior volunteers.
  • Companion - visit an elder at home on a weekly basis.
  • Shopper/Shopping Escort - assist a senior while shopping or shop for them.
  • Telephone Caller - call seniors to check on their well-being.
  • Medical Escort - escort an elder to and from medical appointments.
  • Boston Long-Term Care Ombudsman - advocate for the rights of residents in long-term care facilities.
  • Boston Money Management Program - assist elderly of disabled persons manage their money.
