Elderhostel, a not-for-profit organization, is the nation's first and the world's largest educational and travel organization for older adults. Since 1975, we have offered exceptional learning opportunities at remarkable values.
From tutoring school children in China to building homes in Guatamala to assisting with dolphin research in Midway or Peru, Service Programs offer you the chance to put your time and energy to work for worthy causes.
On a Service program, you will be part of a team - learning through hands on participation, lectures, and instruction - working together on a worthwhile service project. Throughout your stay you will experience the area and the community where you are living. Most importantly, you will learn from the people with whom you are working - fellow Elderhostelers, project staff, and members of the community - as you contribute to bettering our world.
Elderhostel's headquarters in Boston has opportunities for volunteers to assist with programs, outreach, fundraising, administrative and other behind-the-scenes projects. Volunteering is a great way to learn more about Elderhostel and how the organization makes a difference in people's lives. Opportunities vary depending upon your interests, skill base, experience and availability.
