Mission Statement

The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

About Us

The Arthritis Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organization that supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. Founded in 1948, with headquarters in Atlanta, the Arthritis Foundation has multiple service points located throughout the country. The Arthritis Foundation is the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants since 1948. The foundation helps people take control of arthritis by providing public health education; pursuing public policy and legislation; and conducting evidence-based programs to improve the quality of life for those living with arthritis.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed to help organize the annual Boston Arthritis Walk at the Prudential Center. Help is needed with recruiting walkers, organizing logistics and publicizing the event. Join us in the fight against arthritis – our nation’s number one cause of disability!

The Arthritis Foundation is always looking for assistance at the Chapter Office with clerical work such as mailings, stuffing packets, writing thank you letters, etc. We also need help at Chapter programs and special events around the state. Come join us as a volunteer at the Mini Grand Prix, Arthritis Walks, Joints in Motion training, osteoporosis screenings, lectures, health fairs and more! You'll have fun, meet new friends and feel good about helping a worthy cause at the same time.
